Taming the Tikbalang

Metallic Gel Pen on Illustration Board
2012

Awaiting the gifts of the Heart
And emboldened to a battle

On to the night
Racing among the stars
Taming the watcher

Now servant and friend"

Thanks Cat

Of all mythological creatures of the Tagalog people, the Tikbalang is my fave :)

Thanks Aaron

The Tikbalang were said to be giants, and being 6 ft tall I was almost mistaken to be one when I went to a very isolated island community with a population with an average height of 5'3 :)

They later realized I was just as human as they were, then when they heard I had been to the mystic mountain of Banahaw . . . . their perceptions changed again :)

Oh gosh, a while ago I was arguing with a good friend of mine about a digital piece I made (placed it here also: [link]). A man with the head of a horse, we wondered what kind of mythical creature we could link him with. We were thinking of centaurs, but that's just the other way around off course. :) But I believe I finally figured it out now!

Stunning art again

Greetings Lon

I am glad my work brought illumination to your debate. Although the Tikbalang is a mythical creature endemic to my people, I believe that there is a similar creature in ancient Greek myth and it is called a cellini (if my memory serves me right)
