I recently started my "Dream Weavers" series, and this piece was inspired by the the Navajo "Spider Woman" . . . but it took me a long time to realize the image, until I (with my family) was recently in the garden of a shaman friend. My daughter spied a white spider emerge from a flower she had picked, which we were all amazed, because it was the first time for all of us (including the shaman) to see a white spider.
This was a great omen for us, which had finally enacted on to paper.
